AI Companion PWA Starter Kit v1.1 — a runnable developer starter for building an installable AI chat app with Next.js App Router, Supabase Auth/Postgres, a server-side AI endpoint, and Vercel deployment.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

• Next.js App Router project with a starter chat interface

• Supabase email/password sign-in and sign-up

• Cookie-aware Supabase server client

• Authenticated /api/chat endpoint

• Per-user message persistence protected by Row Level Security (RLS)

• Server-side call to an OpenAI-compatible chat-completions API

• PWA manifest and app icons for an installable web-app starting point

• Supabase SQL migration and .env.example template

• Setup, provider, security, deployment and productization documentation

• Single-project commercial-use license

REQUIREMENTS

• Node.js 20.9+ and npm

• Your own Supabase project

• Your own API key and model for an OpenAI-compatible chat-completions endpoint

• A Vercel account if you want to deploy there

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

This is a starter project, not a fully managed service or production-certified application. You must supply your own accounts, provider/API key and infrastructure. Offline caching/service worker, rate limiting, abuse prevention, usage limits, production monitoring and application-specific tests are not included and should be added before inviting real users. Provider response formats may need adaptation if your provider is not OpenAI-compatible. No AI service, API credits, hosting, personal data, or guaranteed business results are included.

LICENSE

Single-project commercial use: you may use and modify the kit to build one project. You may not redistribute or resell the starter kit itself.
